Logical & Spatial

Logical Intelligence, also called Mathematical Intelligence, is the capacity to perceive sequences, patterns and order.

Spatial Intelligence, also called Visual Intelligence, is the capacity to see relationships between line, colour, shape, space and form. It is also the ability to manipulate and mentally rotate objects and the capacity to create a graphic likeness of a real object.

As many people with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (including Asperger's Syndrome) have highly developed Logical and Spatial Intelligence, they often seek out and enjoy these types of toys. All children (and most adults!) can benefit from toys that help in the development of these skills.

Toys such as puzzles, blocks, construction toys, drawing and writing materials, maps and mazes can help.
